Gauges...

Can Anyone tell me if it is possible to replace all of the stock gauges in an 87 Iroc with aftermarket gauges from Autometer? and by that i mean, just take out the old ones and swap in the new ones, with VERY minor wiring changes.... THANKS MUCH!!!!

In addition to replacing the gauges, you'd also have to replace all the senders. In some cases you might be able to butcher the factory harnesses to use some of the wiring, but it'd probably be easier to run new wiring. There's also the matter of fabricating a new instrument panel to hold the new gauges.

I just finished swapping out all the stock gauges for Autometer gauges. Its a time consuming project but its not too bad. The biggest hassle for me was fabricating the panel to hold the gauges. I think it was worth the effort though, it looks nice and you don't see too many other cars with aftermarket guages in the dash. Email me if you have any questions at jbenge@hotmail.com
I'll try to post a pic, not sure if it will work since its at geocities.
