weird problem with fan please help!!!!!
I need help with my wife's grand prix(3.1 auto). The car is going crazy!!! The engine dies when the primary fan comes on either with the ac or when the temp gets hot. I have taken it to Pontiac 2 times and they can find no codes and are just baffled like me. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the system voltage at near 14 volts, with the car running? Maybe the alternator & battery are weak & the fan causes the system voltage to drop to a level that the ECM or ignition system stop operating. Try loading the electrical system down before the fan comes on. Turn the blower motor on hi, turn on the head lights, the brights, the windshild wipers, the rear defroster, etc. & see if the system voltage maintains at least 13 volts.
