Code 16 won't go away.
Code 16 won't go away.
Hopefully someone here at Thirdgen can help me with a wiring problem. I've got a '91 S-10 (I know, it's not even a car), but I can't get the code 16 to go away. I swapped in a 4.3 (W) out of a 95 astro, and graphed the new computer into my old harness. Every time the code sets, I get rough, almost lopey idle, with a nasty rich exhaust. When the code's not there, everything runs fine. Can anyone help me?
sounds like a air sensor (MAF, MAP which ever it has). exhaust sensor. ( i cant think of the name, i am being dumb tonight). those regualte the engine so i would start there.

Welld,
A '16' is a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) fault. The 262 used coil packs and a crankshaft position sensor to time the ignition. Make sure the crankshaft position sensor is getting a good signal, is clean, and is adjusted to within 2mm of the reluctor.
Remember, your servicing a '95 engine and PCM now.
