85- Z28 -305- TBI to Carb Help

[SIZE=3] I have a 1985 Z28 with a 305 TBI. I have replaced the motor with a carburated 305. I have seen people sell the injection systems on E-bay for good money and that's what I would like to do. I took the complete wiring harness with the brain and all the relays from the car so it can be sold as a complete unit. When I removed the harness there was a plug that went to the trans. I am assuming this is for the lock up converter and other controls for neutral safety and reverse lights etc.

Can I still run the car with out this part of the system hooked up or do I have to put the injection harness back in? Or can I remove the parts I need from the harness? There are also three plugs that go to the dash from the injection harness where the control unit is mounted. I’m thinking that the plugs might be the ones that have oil psi temp and transmission functions.

Anyone ever do this?
Any ideas?

Thanks a lot .

I'd ask you 'how much?' for the TBI but, you'd probably be better off with Ebay since I'm sorta cheap (and lazy too... ).

The TBi/ECM harness pretty much has nothing to do with the bulkhead connector or the car running once the ECM has be ditched. The neutral safety & the reverse light functions are on the shifter, the plug to the trans is for lockup purposes (and probably something else gear related.. I dunno about the trans stuff).

If you go to the main page of this site & check under 'tech articles ' (I think it is...), you will find links to 85 & 86 camaros. That should give you some insight as to the what's & where's of the wiring.
