Need help with electrical gauges for motor that is mechanical...

Hey guys. Very exciting news. I'm buying a '90 GTA rolling chasis with performance parts to the sky already installed. I'm going to take out the 350/700r4 out of my '82 Z28 I have now and putting them in the GTA. The problem is how do I get all the gauges to work?
The guy is including the computer and all of the wiring so can I use some of the wiring to get the gauges to work (oil pressure, coolant, voltage, etc) or is there another method.

I know there's some kinda box that makes an electrical speedometer and tach work on a mechanical driven system, but don't remember the details.

Please help, this is very exciting, but it won't do me any good if the gauges won't work!

Thanks.

EDIT: forgot to add that the 350 coming out of the '82 is not computer controlled, so I figure that will complicate things.

You should be able to just leave the ECM alone and ignore it, unless you want to convert to TPI some day...so dont be cutting any wires.

All you really need to do is purchase the correct sending units for the GTA, then most of the gauges will work just fine without using the ECM. Same thing with the speedo. The 90 has a VSS box that goes where your current speedogear drive is. Just go to the dealer, get the VSS box and gear drive and bolt it on. The GTA should already have the wiring for it.

- Temp sensor for the gauge should be obvious and goes in the driver side head between #1 & #3 cylinders
- Oil pressure justs needs the correct oil pressure sending unit for the GTA...you may have to get creative with the plumbing, but you can probably put it where it would be on the 82 at the back of the block behind the intake.
- Tach would go to the tach wire on your distributor
- volt meter...shouldnt have to do a thing.
- fuel gauge... also shouldnt have to do anything.
