Fuel pump...

I swapped out the TPI 305 for a carb'd 350. I used the stock elec. fuel pump with a regulator from Mallory. Right now I have a toggle with an end of a wire in the fuse panel and the other in the fuel pump port of the diagnostic port. The switch is just taped to my steering column where I can turn it on for a sec. to start up and then flip back on once the car is running. I am looking for a way to wire this a little safer and better looking. Any ideas?

You can use the original fuel pump relay and oil pressure operated fuel pump switch to do the job. I did this conversion on Phil's '87 IROC, which was a 305 TPI & is now a carb'd 383. The oil pressure operated fuel pump switch (located above the oil filter) parallels the contacts of the fuel pump relay, and will power the fuel pump when the oil pressure is > 5 psig, or so. Connect the green / white wire from the fuel pump relay (coil positive) to the purple / white wire that used to go to the cold start injector (or purple wire from the crank fuse). The fuel pump relay will then power the fuel pump while the ignition is in the crank position.
