AirBag
Okay wasn't 100% sure where this question should go. In my 1991 Camaro RS I found the airbag sensor. Is there anyway to disconnect it without blowing up the airbag??? The car is for my fiance and she is actually too small (92 pounds) to ride with an airbag, weight is 115. So if anyone knows any tricks as to how to disconnect it please let me know.

I'm curious as well how to go about disconnecting it without setting it off. I don't really plan on getting in an accident (who does?), but I don't really trust a 12 year old air bag.

sitting too close the steering wheel in an airbag equipped vehicle can have deadly consequences. to disable the airbag, remove the airbag from the car and then seperate the two connectors. connectors have a shorting bar installed so static electricity won't accidentally deploy the bag.

Air Bag
Is it possiable to remove the airbag without it tearing up the steering wheel?? If so how do I do it? Yes, my fiance has no choice but to sit close to the wheel other wise she cant reach everything properly. In her corisca the air bag has been deployed (wrecked before she bought it) and it has the hole in the steering wheel from the airbag, I would like to avoid a hole in it. Also is there a way to do it and keep the "airbag" light to stay off???
