Coil replacement

I recently bought a MSD coil and a new cap and rotor and need further instructions on installation of the coil. Are there rivets that need to be drilled out? Any suggestions for those without a drill handy? Thanks

To be honest with ya, I don't remember having to drill anything out. I think mine just had two small bolts holding it on, but if you don't have a drill, try using a dremil(spelling?). That is if you have one! Sorry if I wasn't much help.

There is a bracket that attaches your coil to the intake manifold. To remove this bracket, you must drill out the rivets that attach the bracket to the coil. The rivets are aluminum, so they are pretty easy to drill with the correct size bit. I ground the heads of the rivets off with a bench grinder. That worked pretty well. Whatever you do, don't just set the coil on the manifold like I did for a while. The vibration killed it in only a few days, giving me all kinds of intermittent problems. Attach the new coil with the supplied machine screws to the bracket. Then mount the bracket to the engine as originally attached. Good luck.
