Speeodometer Problem (drops Off)

The car is an 88 formula tuned port with 5 speed.
The problem is that the speedo will flutter and sometimes drop off completely.
This is an intermittent problem you will be driving at 40 and it will flutter below and sometimes go straight to 0mph. It is giving the computer a bad signal as well because when it is real bad it kicks the car into limp mode..
I have replaced the speed sensor and the v.s.s, buffer already and the symptom is the same..
Any help would be greatly appreciated and could be profitable as well..
thanks,
JOSH

The next place I would start looking at is the wiring itself. Sometimes wires do break within the insulation. I'd use a multimeter to test from point A to B on a VSS wire while moving it to see what happens. If I didn't find a problem there, I'd just start cussing as I usually do at my car :sillylol:

lAREADY HAD THE SPEED SENSOR WIRES TAPPED INTO A VANTAGE LAB SCOPE AND THE PROBLEM IS SO INTERMITTENT THAT IT WAS INPOSSIBLE TO CAPTURE IT ON THE SCREEN.
