Brake light question

Quick question.

I just added a spoiler to my car, and it has a third brake light, whereas my car does not. I figure i can ground it to the defroster, but where should i splice in the positive?

Also, since i figure the wire i need is in the car, and not on the hatch... how do i get power from the car to the hatch. do they make those strut things with more than one electrical connector? How about those connections that go on the car and the door/trunk/etc and contact breaks when it's open... should i just leave enough slack and tape it to the strut???

BTW. it's on the 83' camaro with no factory spoiler, and as far as i know no provisions for a third light

PS. the search button doesn't know....

The 'proper' way would be to get the contact piece that attches to the underside of the hatch lid itself & wires to the light and get the rear trim piece from a car that had a 3rd brake light with the opposing contact on it and then wire it to you existing brake light.

The other way would be to buy one of the 'wireless' speaker door jamb contacts from somewhere like summit

You can tap/splice into the light blue wire.
