Gauges still work if no ECM is there?
Im going to be ditching my stock ECM very soon. Im replacing it with a Speed Pro ECM. I dont want to spend the extra to get an adaptor harness and the way it comes, it replaces the underhood wiring harness and the ECM of course.
If I get rid of the stock ECM, will my dash gauges stil work? The ones I am concerned with are fuel level and volts. The others I have replaced with mechanical gauges. Which in the end, I may just go to a custom gauge panel and use an AUTO METER fuel guage and volt meter. *shrug*
Oh yeah, I have a cable driven speed so that isnt an issue.
Just wondering though.
Thanks

My friend has an '89 Formula and he swapped from TBI to Carb and his gauges still work w/out the ECM!! Even the speedo...and it's ELECTRIC!
