Convertible tounneu cover thing, the release button don't work????
The power release button for the convertible hatch on my 91 rs, on the cover itself don't release the cover. i don't think it's the switch cause i took the trunk/hatch release switch out my 89 rs and tried it and it still don't work? anyone have any ideas or would know why it's not working? hasn't worked since i've had the car for the past 5 months.

There's a relay in the console that enables the release solenoids when in P or N (auto), or when the em. brake is appplied (manual), and there is a switch on the trunk machanism that prevents the cover from being released when the trunk lid is up.

I had the same problem in my 91. The quick fix could lie in how you are going about opening it up, my switch made the release noise but nothing ever happened. After reading some posts on the History/restoration page I learned that just by putting a little pressure on the driverside of the tonnou and pushing the switch, it would pop the cover everytime. It's that easy.
