H4 Conversion

Hey all, first of all yes i did use the search feature on the board and read every post about the H4 mods but i still came up with a few questions. I found out how to fix the pins so that they H4's can be used as a low beam bulb and how htey can be found through various websites including ebay as a conversion kit but my questions is is it possible to get bulbs seperately and then get a housing and wire it up to the stock harness? or is it necessary for the aftermarket harness to be acquired with the bulbs so that it can handle the wattage and what not. Any help will be apprecciated. Thanks in advance

Bulbs are bulbs, the only difference is the housings. If you get 55W H4 bulbs to replace your 55W 4656 bulbs, chances are, your stock wiring can handle it. If you get 75W, 80W, or 100W H4 bulbs, chances are you'll start melting wires. If you get a 75W 4656 sealed beam bulb, you stand the same chance. So basically, it's not about the bulb, it's about the current you're trying to draw with them.

H4 conversion

Actually performing an H4 conversion is as simple as going out and finding someone who carries Hella products. I have an H4 conversion in my 92 camaro, I bought the units from hella they came with lenses bulbs and a patch harness all you have to do is plug everything in. It was kind of a bitch getting them aligned but they work so good that a little fusing with them during installation was well worth it. If you can't find them e-mail me and I can get you a set. Also if you are ever interested in true HID conversion let me know I can get that too
