TPI -> Carb conversion help needed

I'm switching an 86 tpi to carb due to motor swap. I have a new ECM and Q-Jet for this engine and I thought I had a replacement wiring harness that would work, but it's not matching up. The new ECM I have is supposed to be a replacement for the unit in LG4 or L69, equipped cars 82-87 but only one of the harness connectors to the ECM would fit. Does anyone know of a place I could get the correct harness? The replacement I have is from a junk yard across the country and is quite obviously the wrong one. I've tried painless, Napa, advance, autozone, pep-boys, the GM dealer, I can't find anyone reputable to sell me one. Can the harness I have be rigged to work? what would I need to do that? I do have some experience with electronics and can read wiring diagrams and if I could get the correct connectors and find out which lead is which on everything I could build my own, but there must be an easier way! Right?

I know what your going though. I would suggest getting a harmness and ECm from another camaro or Monte SS along with that carb. Or you can go with a non computer controlled setup with a vacum advance distributer. That only requires a few wires that you can make your own harness for. Is staying emmisions legal a big concern for you?. also have you converted to a mechanical pump, the tpi pump is way to much psi for a carb. You need to get a smaller ectic one or a mechanical pump. My friend might have a harness for a Monte SS i will check for you. By the way, are you selling your tuned port? if so, how much>?
Thanks, hope this helped , Rob

I'm thinking I'll get more for it by selling the whole engine, it's 2.8L v6, I don't think I mentioned that in my other post. You can have the engine, trans, wiring harness, and computer for $250. I just want to get it out of the way. It ran before I took it out but leaked oil and tran fluid. especially trans fluid. That's all I know, I bought it with the intention of swapping the engine and only drove it about a hundred miles before I pulled it out. You'll have to come get it if you want it. I live near chattanooga TN, anyway, back on topic. It doesn't have to pass emmisions right now, but my wife only has one more year of school and we'll be moving when she's done I don't know where so I need to do keep it clean. I don't want to blow another hundred bucks for a harness that won't work, I really don't need any more spare connectors, so I've either got to see the harness before I buy it or get it from a good reputable company that stands behind there stuff. As far as fabricating the whole thing myself, I'm not the least bit hesitant about doing it if I can find the one connector that I don't have that plugs into the ECU. Does anyone sell the connectors? It seems like SOMEBODY must. I can't imagine one NEVER breaking.

Oh yeah, am switching pumps. the new one is electric, in tank like the old one. runs at 16 psi to a pressure regulator that drops it to 6. the whole set up came with the engine and computer. It's a zz4 camaro conversion kit from GM also came with the whole intake and exhaust system, a bunch of new sensors, and a corvette servo for the trans. they assume I'm coming from an L69 or LG4 engine though so they didn't give me a harness. I wish I'd known that before I bought the thing. It's turning out to be a royally expensive pain in the butt. I'm having to replace a zillion little nickle and dime things but I'll shut up now and go vent my frustration doing something useful.
