cooling fan help

On a 92 Z with 350, where is the fan switch, and from reading other articles am I correct in thinking the cooling fan relay is on the driver's side firewall with a green/white ground wire for the coil ground of the relay?
As far as this people suggesting the brass switch 3 inches below the upper radiator hose, is there an existing plugged hole in the radiator for this or do you have to have it cut in. This is for a friend's car and I don't have it here to look at it.

The fan switch is located on the pass. side head, between #6 and #8 plugs. Relays should be on the drivers side firewall, by the brake master cylinder...
