if i unplug the carb and dist. from computer will TC still lock up?

Axle/Gears: GM Axles and GM 3.73
if i unplug the carb and dist. from computer will TC still lock up?
i have a holley 600cfm and a hei distributer that im waiting to throw on my motor im building up......but if i can just throw them on my car i may do it becuz my carb is all messed up and i dont wanna mess with it........i know more about holley's
