Expolding Distributor
Expolding Distributor
Ok heres the story I just got a wrecked Firebird for a parts car. The engine is going in my 84 Z28. Anyways I was test running the engine and when i revved it up i heard a pop. Went to the engine bay and the distibutor cap was in pieces. The rotor flew a good 5 feet. Anyone ever heard of this happening before? What caused this? Luckely I still have the distributor from my camaro

Probably just a bad cap and rotor. Never seen it happen but I guess anything is possible. You can "MOST" likely use the ones off the camaro but you'd be better off buying new ones. You could get them for about 20 bucks.
