Fan Wiring Questions

Hello I have a 91 Z with a 305 TPI it has the dual cooling fans and the problem is that the fans don't work at all and there is wire from the battery that was burned in two. So I put jumper in the spot where the wire was burned and when I started the car the passenger side fan was spinning and the wire burned up. So I thought the wire was to small so I put another bigger in the same spot it did the same thing and the wire fried. So I was wondering what would the problem be and how can I wire the fans so they both come on with using a toggle switch. Is there anyway to do this???? Thanks

Dude don't do it. Your fans are telling you that they quit and don't want to work for you no mo, and if you force them too with a toggle switch they're gonna torch the place.
Believe them. Go to a S-yard or unfriendly parts store and get a new one if you got the ducks. I went with a 84 Honda dual fan on a toggle in my 84 byrd, but some are more picky. Good Wrenchin.

the reason you are frying wires is because the drivers side fan is smoked. they must be wired in paralell or the pass. side wouldnt work at all. if you can isolate the fans you could use the pass. side fan temporaraly until a replacement was found.
