Gauge lights no workie workie :(

The gauge lights in my bird decided to quit on me. The "dummy" lights still work and so do the gauges themselves. I read a thread last week about the dimmer switch. I don't think thats the problem b/c if it were, wouldn't they work sometimes and not others? I did check the connections where the plug meets the dimmer switch and all is well there. The fuse is not blown. This is starting to annoy me....alot ! I'd appreciate any help you guys could give. Thanx.

by the way, the dome light works fine. I can turn the dimmer switch up and it will turn on. This is another reason i think the switch isn't the problem.

Thanx man, but that was the thread i was referring to in my original post. Nothing there was of any help. I tried all the ideas there and no help. Thats why i posted this one. Like i said, everything else works fine and the fuses (gauges and inst lmps) haven't blown. Any other things it could be? Thanx again

wiring schematics for the dash light circuit are avaliable at:

remember that current flows in a loop. not only do you need power going into to the dashlights, you also need a good ground. a break anywhere in the loop will stop electricity from flowing.
