Mysterious Cooling fan problem,,,Detectives come inside
Well, I'm getting 12v to my plug end for my cooling fan(My cooling fan motor is on a switch linked to the green wire one the relay). When I jump the cooling fan motor directly to the battery It runs just fine. But when I plug the Motor in and turn the switch on The fan doens't run. I unplug the motor and check the plug (never turning the switch off) and I still get 12v. Everything checks out ok.

When you check the plug which connects to the fan do you have 12v from one terminal (only) to ground OR do you have 12v from each terminal to ground? You should only have 12v from one terminal to ground, not both. If you do have 12v from each terminal to ground then you have two shorted wires going from the relay to the connector. I've seen this before..... two wires melted together.

Found the problem,,,the relay worked when there was no load on it (ie,,,DVM!) it worked fine. But, as soon as there was a load on it the relay opened back up and didn't let 12v through. So I replaced the relay and everythign is just fine. THanks for all your help!
