Anybody ever hooked up a MSD 6AL to a TPI with 7pin module distributor????

Ok, here's the deal! I just got my MSD 6AL box recently! I start looking through the instructions and I find the place where it has hook up instructions for 5 and 7 pin module distributors like the one I have! My friend has a carbed thirdgen that had a 4 pin module and the MSD box completely replaced his module through use of the Magnetic Pickup Connector wire on the box..... however, the diagram for the 5 or 7 pin module distributor shows that the Magnetic Pickup Wire is NOT used and that the white wire is used instead!! According to the picture, the module is still used WITH the MSD 6AL box... is this correct.. it doesn't make sense to me! I thought the box was supposed to completely replace the Module!??!?!?! If anyone with TPI with a 7pin module distributor (mine's an 86) has ever hooked an MSD 6AL up, PLEASE reply and let me know HOW you did it..... I'm looking at the top of Page 17 in my MSD instructions that came with the box! PLEASE HELP!!
