Damn 92' power window Camaros! please help inside.
I have a 92' camaro, power everthing, sort of. Anywho, im having problems, with my power windows. For example, when i drive the car for a while, and i put my windows down, they sort of get stuck, 1/4 way, then 5 minutes later, it works again. This happens on both sides of the window. A good example, is if i've been driving for a good distance, and the window is all the way down, and i shut off the car, the window, goes up until 3 inches to the top, and stops, dosent close all the way, then i gott shut the ignition off, for about 20 seconds, to get the window completly closed, what could be wrong??, how much is it gonna be to repair. I did notice that the windows are a BIT slower, closing and opening. ANY HELP???????

Yea, your window motors are having "an old age moment"... My pass side is shot and my drivers side is getting weak, even though it's been replaced once already. They run about $45 each, you can do them yourself, or it'll probably run ya an hours labor cost per side. Might could save some money by having the door panels already removed...

when you take off the door panel, there is a large hole near the front of the door, inside you will see the register, on the end of it hiding behind the metal is the motor

Hey,
We have a 91 RS Convertible with power everything and we had the exact same problem!
I might suggest going down to your local junk yard! I went there and bought a window motor for a whopping $8.00! There is a trick though....
From what I've seen in the junk yard cars... Motors that are silver are the original motors.... Motors that are blue are after market or replacement motors....
Go for the replacement motors...
it's easy to spot a replacement motor since all original motors were pop rivited into the door. Replacements usually have screws on them.
Second thing to keep in mind...
There is a large spring within the mechanics of the window operation and when that pup gets loose watch out!! I suggest going down to a junk yard and taking a look at the set-up before doing anything to your car.
If you're going to do it yourself, definately go doown to the junk yard and practice. I had mine done by a body shop that painted the car. They did it for free since the car was already apart, but they screwed it up royally!! It took me a full 8 hours to get the window adjusted correctly again so we could get the door to close properly.
These windows are tricky, and may be even more of a PITA if you have a convertible.
Just my 1 penny added.
