Quick question about harness and problems

If I had a 1992 TBI RS Camaro and wanted to switch to a TPI System. Assuming I bought a 86-88 systems, how would I go about switching everything to working.

I'm assuming vats would be a problem, and possibly the cold start injector. Is there a way to get around these without actually programming the prom? or would I need to do that as well.

VATS wouldn't be a problem assuming you use an 89 chip. Using an 89 chip would take care of both of those problems you state: the VATS, and the cold start injector.

If you installed an 86-88 TPI setup, then to add VATS you'd only need to add the one blue wire to your harness and run it to your existing VATS module (assuming you switched the 86-88 chip out for an 89 chip)..

Now since you specified "without actually programming the prom" I'm talking about only switching out the chip for an 89 chip. You can accomplish the same thing through programming which I'd suggest.

Once you have it installed and the 89 chip in, you'd only need to disconnect the cold-start injector connector. I went a step further and removed the wiring altogether (it's a surprisingly segregated circuit. Only one wire to cut.)
