What routing does the ENGINE harness follow? Does it connect to the steering column? As near as I can tell, it just follows along the firewall, branching out to the various componants. Is this correct or am I missing something? also, up under the passenger side dash, there is some sort of translucent orange cable that connects to some EGR valve looking thing. What is it?

 

The ECM/sensor (engine control) wiring comes out by the blower motor & the power/gauges/other crap from the spot on the firewall next to the brake booster.

The EGR looking thinkgy would probably be one of the vacuum controls for you heat/Ac ducting.
