Ignition Switch

I have an issue with my ignition that I would like to solve. I would like to put a switch in that has to be turned to the ON position for the car to start. I would like to have that feature, but you still have to turn the car on normally, and when the switch is off, well, you can't turn it on (obviously)

Anyone know of an easy step-by-step procedure for this? Thanks a lot!

I asked a similar question and got this respense from Ed Maher:

Get under your hood and take the fat pink wire going into the distributor cap and cut it. Extend the wires w/ some nice 10-12 gauge wire to where ever you want and put a switch on it to close the circuit so you can drive as desired.
As for where to hide it, that’s up to you, the possibilities are endless...

I didn't do it because with a carb, if someone tries to start it with the switch off, they'll just keep cranking it on and on 'till it starts, so it just floods like nobody's business. I think now I'll tap into the neutral safety switch so it can't crank at all. Good Luck
