Ive got a 86 transam that had a tpi 5.0 in it. I put a carbed 350 in and took the computer and wiring harness out. It has a electronic vss on the trany and the yellow box next to the computer. so all i have to do is put the wires out of the harness that go to the tranny back in and hook the yellow box back up to make my spedo and cruise work again? Also is there any cheep way to make the lock up torq converter work without the computer in the car

You are correct on the VSS and VSS buffer. You could either use a toggle switch to control the TCC lockup during highway use - with the brake switch applying power, as in the stock configuration, or use the ECM solely to control the TCC as a function of VSS input, or build a circuit to control the TCC as a function of VSS input & have it lock up @ > 40 mph, or so.
