Fuel Level Gauge not working. Need help!
Fuel Level Gauge not working. Need help!
I got some Autometer Light bulb covers and installed them on the light bulbs behind the gauge cluster. To do this I took out the Tack, Volt, Temp, and Fuel level gauges. I put them all back in and they all work except for the Fuel Level gauge. The needle for this gauge goes all the way passed full and stays there. All the the other gauges and lights work. Could I have srcewed up the circuit board behind the gauges or is it something else? Do i have to reset it some how? It was working before I took it out. Any comments would be very helpful. Thanks

Take the cluster back out and make sure that the circuit "board" is not crimped in anyway. Make sure that the screws that connect the gauge to the board are on tight. Its probably just a bad connection. You could also get some contact grease and dab a little on the contacts.
Thanks I will check that out, but if it was crimped wouldn't it affect all the guages. I was not able to take the guage cluster out all the way because it was getting dark out and I was not sure how to detach the speedo. Do you know of the best way to disconnect the speedo from the cluster so that I can take it out. I had my hand up behing the cluster so I hope I didn't screw anything up, but the light bulb covers look pretty cool. Thanks again and I will keep you posted.
