more popup head light questions

ok my problem is that when I bought my car both headlights stayed up I checked all the wiring and connections tested them all with a multimeter everything was fine so I went to GM and got new motors, the problem is that the new motors have 3 wires and the car has 4 on each side, I have checked manual after manual and they all show 3 wires so what gives? any one have a full diagram so I can rewire the whole circut? I have tried to figure it out by hooking the wires up at random and have only got the lights to go down but not up
oh yeah the car is a 82 TA with power everything if that makes a difference

well I would say that GM sold you the wrong motors, go in with an old motor and have them match the part numbers. I would check the swtich and logic module for the lights. Most likly the module because it is what changes the polarity to reverse the motors.

well I think I may have it figured out (not holding my breath) but the 4th wire (the one that has no place to hook up) has power when I flip the switch but then looses power when I flip it back and also one of them is constantly hot. I went to gm and asked if they could tell me anything about this car as alot of body parts I have gotten for it did not fit very well, I gave them my vin # and after waiting for about an hour the guy told me that there was only 4,280 and my car was # 1,408 of that produced, of that specific model) I have not been able to find clutch linkage alot of front end parts and brakes! every set of brakes I have ever bought for it never fit! GM told me that they could not even supply these parts I need because they dont make them and I would probably have to make my clutch linkage, my shifter broke and so I bought a hurst with the install and linkage kit (had to modify the linkage to make it fit.

Also, did you check all three relays?
