Will dash cluster from a 90 Camaro fit in a 89?

Once again I am not sure where to post. My question is twofold. The first is will it fit? The second is because its electronic will it connect to a 4L60 that came from a 93 Z28? I am in the middle of a motor swap and want to install the motor and tranny as close to factory orginal as possible., ie I want the electronic speedo gauge.

Thanks in advance for your help

I'd like to know if I could stick the 91 dash in my 89 305 LO3 engine1. The 140MPH gauge and if it will still work even though my current gauge reads 115mph.

m-t, the you can do the swap, but you have to do the ENTIRE dash, not just the gauge cluster, since the 90 IROC is different from the 85-89's.

Could your expand on entire dash? Will the entire dash fit? Has anyone done this? All I want is an electronic speedo that will connect to my 1993 engine/tranny combo.

Thanks

Ron

Yes, the entire dash will fit. What I mean by the entire dash is the ENTIRE thing. The big entire piece that sits in front of the driver and passenger. You have to do this, cuz as you may already know, the gauge cluster is entirely different.

Your 89 should be mechanical speedo, and its a simple swap to put a mechanical speedo setup into a 4L60, just swap them. Why go to all the hassle of swapping the dash?

Omar, do you really need to replace the passenger dash too? Whoa...

If he wants to use his 90 gauge cluster, then yeah, he will have to replace ALL of it. But like you said, Kevin, it's not the only way.

On a mechanical speedo setup, the cable turns the speedometer. Then there are wires that go from the speedometer to the computer that tell it how fast the car is going. As long as those wires are still in place, and working, you're fine.
