Ok, a few months ago, was getting gas, started car and noticed fuel gauge still read between empty and 1/4 tank. Then about a week ago, car kept starting and dying out eventually. Had new fuel filter put in and when had that done the gauge pegged all the way past full. The problem with it dying still was happening, found out it was fuel pump, but when it sat for a few days the gauge went down to 3/4 of a tank, but when I started it, the gauge pegged itself back past full. So, getting new pump, but need gauge fixed too. Does it sound like a gauge prob, wiring prob or sending unit prob? Supposedly new pump w/sending unit is gonna cost like $500 and I cannot afford that.
