2 alternators, will it work and would it help?

Hey I was wondering if anyone has or has heard of using 2 alternators for more power to ignition, stereo, windows, etc etc... ? If so I would assume that you would wire it in parallel to the other alternator? this would also create more reliability I would think since both alternators would not have to work as hard, creating less heat and ending up with longer life. Im sure some would say how to mount it? well I put a paxton on mine and didnt like the idea of having the alternator mounted below the P/S pump (incase it ever leakes, oil in a hot electrical environment can end up with a lot of problems) I had removed my air pump when I put the headers on, so I mounted the alternator there, its been there almost 8 months and many many miles and no problems once I got it mounted to where the fan wouldnt hit. Im taking the paxton off so I would put another alt where the stock one went.
So once again would this help, work or would it cause more problems with having to try to regulate or overcharge?
thanks
