Can someone please tell me why my new cd player is tied in with my headlights? when I start the car the player is on "quiet" mode until I either adjust the volume one click or turn on my parking lights. Then if I put the car in park and turn off the parking lights it will some times go back into quiet mode. Why?

Sounds like a comfort thing. I guess the radio manufacturer thought that you wouldn't want the radio blasting when you first started the car up. My ranger does that. No matter how loud I leave it, it has a max start up volume. The same thing probably goes for the park thing. I bet it's something they thought you'd like.

 

not too sure but maybe the mute wire on the radio and the illumination wire got mixed up...just a thought
