what the **** is wrong with this :(
yeah, I have a 84 Trans Am with a 305 4bbl.THe problem Im having has to do with the fuse box.I have a power wire comming from the battery going into my fuse box, powering the car, lights, radio, gauges,ect..this is the only way i can keep the car running.I cant start it from the key.I can turn the key but nuttin happens, dead.I have the wire going to the ign.thing in the fuse box and its burning alive.this really sucks people, Ive tore the darn thing apart looking for bad wire and such,no luck. all i need to know is what the **** can i do to get this thing runnig again(it sucks not being able to drive my beast)any help will help, thanx.
The main power relay is at your starter. There should be 4 red fusible link wires and one purple fusible link(starter solenoid) there that connect to the main power cable from the battery. Those fusible links could have burned up which would explain no power.
To check this use an ohm meter and see if you have a closed circuit by placing the red probe on the loop connector of the red wire and the black probe on the car where bare metal is showing. If it reads open loop then the fuse link is bad, or you have no ground.
Second check the main ground that is coming off of the negative side of the battery. If that is not making a good connection it would also explain no power.
To check this place the red probe on the + battery terminal and the black probe on the place you are grounding, but not on the ground wire. Another way to do that is to go from B+ to anywhere metal is showing(ALT, brackets, block). It should read some kind of resistance. If it says OL then the system is not grounded.
When you are checking any of this you have to disconnect any short circuit wire that you have installed off of the battery.
I hope this helps.

ok,I didnt tell in the first post.I replaced the silonoid and the wire the was going to it.I took off and taped the old wire, ran a new hot wire to a button because the key would not start it. you think maybe the wires i took off have somthing to do with power not reaching the key, gauges, lights the hole thing. If it does, is there a way i can fix it with out buying another set of fusable link wires. because they were bad before i took the siloniod off..any input will help some more.
