Need more info... Don't all distributers advance in some way or another when you accelerate? I would say it sounds like BS because all distributers (within reason) should advance the timing when you accelerate if it is in proper working order... How far it advances should all depend on the base timing you set... don't go past 10 degrees base advance or you may have problems...

Well for starters I know nothing about distributors (but I'm lerning).
I do know how to look up parts though.

In summit they have part # SUM-G5212 which is a HEI Advance curve kit which sells for $4.50. It comes with 3 springs and a few other parts that go inside the ditributor.
The only thing is.....
It's for 74-79 non-computer controlled distributors.

I think the part you would need is made by Petronix. Part # PNX-D8000 that sells for $119.95. But this is an entire kit including rotor, cap, coil, etc..... and I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct part number for our distributors.

Also in JEGS they have the same kit as above made by Proform. Part Number 778-66945RC which sells for $75.99 and again has everything including cap and rotor.

Go to their websites and punch in those numbers and take a look.

I might be right , but more than likely I'm wrong.
