Every time I turn on the rear defrost in my 92 RS, the fuse to my power door locks, dome light, and cigarette lighter blows. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Dont have much of an idea but does your rear defrost still work after taht?

 

No, the rear defrost goes out along with the other things

 

i bought a blacklight for my car and everytime i plug it in the cigarette lighter the fuze for the lighter interior lights and power locks blow it get a bit monotonous after a while

 

Have you tried unplugging the defroster lines from the hydrolics and turning on the defrost ?

If the fuse still blows w/the grid not being hooked up to pull juice, I'd suspect the power wire is grounding to the body somewhere.

The defrost shares the same power source, the PWR ACC fuse(30amp), as the other things you mention that go out.

I have the same problem with my car, i have an 87' Z28, whenever i turn on my rear defroster, my radio goes off,dome goes off and interior lights shut off. and the defroster goes off 5 seconds after that, then my radio and and stuff goes back on again! help us!
