Digital speedometer going nuts......odometer completly gone

Digital speedometer going nuts......odometer completly gone

I have an 88 Trans Am GTA, with the digital dash option.....a few days ago I started up my car and my odometer was completly gone.....then i put it in drive and noticed that my speedometer also took a crap....the speedometer is kind of wierd...it tells the actual speed sometimes, but it jumps around too.......someone with some eletrical knowledge please step in!! Thanks alot!!

Well obviously sounds like a problem with the wiring its problem jumpin cuz the cables are rubbing from the vibrations when the engine revs. If i where you first check your wiring for the odometer and speedodometer.Also do u have the splitter set up for your odometer and Speedometer

It could be the VSS on the trans. The digi-dash on my car wasn't working when I got it, and I just ripped it all out. I'm installing Auto Meter guages.
