Blower motor resistor
Blower motor resistor
Ok...here's the problem...
my blower fan for the A/C went out. I checked the relay, the fan motor, all is fine. I take the gauge cluster out and find a small plug not connected to anything behind the cluster, above the steering column. It has one tan wire, and one blue wire, terminating in a female plug. I cannot find where this plug goes. It is supposed to go into a 'blower resistor', with yellow and purple wires going to the blower.
Where is this? I can't find the socket for this plug! I have searched the entire dash for it...
thanks!

The blower motor resistors are located on the top of the blower duct, under the hood, near the blower high speed relay. The blower speed control switch supplies power to the fan motor through the resistors in the low, med low, and med hi positions. In the high position, the speed control switch supplies power to the blower high speed relay coil, and the relay powers the blower motor directly from a fusible link at the large lug on the starter.

Thanks for the text explanation of the wiring diagram. I am experiencing a problem where the blower motor stays on "low" no matter the position of the blower speed control switch. Can you explain what component of this wiring diagram may have failed? Thanks!
