Converting to 4th GEN 4157/3157bulb sockets, is this possible on a 3rd GEN...?

i want to have brighter bulbs in the front of my third gen. is it possible to wire in a set of the 4th gen sockets? i know that both have 3 wires: turn, park, and ground.

any info, greatly appreciated.

Wiring is the easy part. Giving the bulb a place to sit is the hard part. You'd have to custom make a socket for it in your existing housing, or completely fab up a housing from scratch. I don't remember for sure, but I think the 4th gens (or at least the late 4th gen Camaros) use bulbs that sit upright instead of projecting their light out the tip.

yeah, i figured that. i might swap the housing as well, but besides that, no issues with voltage, amperage, anything with the stock elec. system?
