ok well my timing was set to 8, but i desided to advance it till i heard knock...then back it off some. well i dissconected the 4 wire plug by the distibutor (qjet car), loosend the distributor and started to turn it. well the light on the ballancer and looking at the tape, i turned the distributor........i got no knock ever and i went all the way to 50. i didnt want to leave it there for long so i just put it at 20 and tightend it all back up and connected the computer and drove it...im just wondering how i can go that far without knock.?

 

There was no load on it.

 

so you can advance it all you want at idle and you wont get a ping or a knock at all? i thought 20 was alot...but my car seems to like it i wonder how much more she wants.
