oil pressure and temperature gague dead~

on a 1982 pontiac firebird s/e 2.8L

well the oil pressure gague always shoots stright up to the top(right) when i turn the engine on. And the temperature does the exact opposite, going to the left to cold. This sob has overheated on me a few times because of that...

If you can help me figure out how to get these working!
Thanks a lot.

Im having the same problem, only, with my gas gauge. Shooting right up, into a straight up position.

yea i checked out your post because it looked similar.. i have never unplugged or pluged anything into my engine, im thinkin my cables are just unplugged and i have no clue where they go.. or else the sensors are broke..

do you have a chiltons type manual? id check that for it;.. i am also looking in there maybe in teh wiring diagram section for the oil pressure sensor wire.. maybe it will show fuel gague wires also...
