Custom Gauges and Pics?
I am thinking of making a custom instrument cluster...maybe with the Autometer Ultra-Lite series mechanic 2 1/16th gages and the 5 inch speedo and tach to match.
Anybody done something like this? Got photos? Any reasons why it might be a bad idea?

I did this go to my home page in my sig.I used the 3 3/4 inch tach and speedo since it lets you fit 3 2 1/16 gauges in the middle like factory.Reasons not to do this? Its very expensive, about $500 or so just for gauges,I had the gauges panel made custom, cost me $145 its billet aluminum and looks killer. You also have to get a new spddo sender if you go to electronic speedo like I did.Let me know what you think,I have more pics of them in the car,the pic I have on my site is old and took it before I installed it.

Procharged,
Your instrument cluster looks great. I know that I made one in an old Volkwagen bug and it looked awesome.
I know it can get a bit pricey....but hey, you only live once.

That gauge install looks really trick! Great job bro. I was curious how hard was it to change from manual speedo to electric or didnt you change? Also dont suppose you can give me the info about the gauge panel could ya? I'm bouncing between aluminum and black mirror plexi. But if I can find a dash like yours I would def. go that way. Thanks for the info. Jered 1983SS 350 www.geocities.com/smokntires

I'll have to get a friend of mine over here with a digital camera.
I remeoved the old cluster and guts.
where the old panel used to be I had a 1/4" piece of lexan cut.
The speedo's a 5" er where the tach used to be, it's got 2 1/16th gauges in the glass besides that one.. a water temp gauge and a trans temp gauge over top one another where the speedo used to be.
and volt meter and fuel temp over the column.
Tach is mounted on the side of the cigarette lighter pod on the right.
Air fuel gauge, and oil press in the A-pillar pod
gotta get some pice of it.. the lexan is smoked gunmetal grey
Autometer sport comp blackface gauges.
