What's the switch I need to replace to make my brights work?
Hey guys. I've lost my Chiltons. My brights only work if I lift my steering wheel into the top position and try clicking them on about 10,000 times. I remember there's a switch you replace to fix this, but does anybody have the part number and idea of how much it costs?
Also, how do you replace it...I'm sure it's a bear since it's in the steering column.

About $10-15 from 'the zone'
It actually mounted on the column rather than in.
Easiest way (imo) is to remove the 4 nuts holding the column to the dash (easily seen w/the 'hush' panel off. Then the switch is accessable (upper left side of column down by the brake pedal). 2 hex screws, a plug, old switch off, new switch on, plug back in 2 hex screws, back in business.
Limited space (unless you're a smaller person), makes it a bit harder than stated above but, not too bad.

what's the actual name of the switch so they don't give me a blank look?
thanks for the help, that sounds very easy...I'll be sure to thank the bastard that told me it was hard and that's why I've been putting it off

I just asked for the high beam switch when I got mine. Hard/difficulty is determined by how lazy one is
(for most average repairs)...
