Battey 'Light' - Out of curiosity

Starter killed my 1 yr old Delco battery with one of those 'status' green lights on it. The light went out when the battery died, hasn't come back even though the battery seems to work fine. Is this normal?
Just curious. Thanks

Are you talking about the "eye" on the battery? If you are that eye is a hydrometer that tells the electrolyte level in the battery, green is a good battery. I doubt though if the battery is rather new that it could have totally killed the battery. If you aren't sure about how good the battery is take it into an auto parts store and have them test it.

Hi josh. I souldn't say that the starter'killed' the battery, just totally depleted it temporarily. The battery now works perfectly, but the 'eye' is not green anymore. I was just curious
Thanks.

Well if you are not sure about the battery just have it tested.
