Me and 4 of my other friends' are all running Firebirds of varying years this summer - gonna cruise around, road trips, etc. (a few other too, including a Mustang and and RX7), and I thought of an interesting idea - would their be any way to rig up a set of short distance walkie-talkies from one vehicle to another? Something with a fairly small range just tuned in to one another? That way, since only one person has a radar detector (as of now), we could keep in touch via these things...please, no replies like "buy a cellphone/CB/etc., haha"...I'm just curious how hard it would be to go about something like this? Also, if you have an idea for a group name ("re: post in Ontario section"), let me know. Thanks for your time!

One idea is the cheesy kiddie walkie talkies. They are fairly cheap, and should have enough range to allow car-to-car talking. Go for the GI Joe ones if they still make them.
