I was trying to hook up a new cd player to my 91 bird and I got a few unwanted sparks from the wiring harness (for the cd player) then my dash lights did not work. My gauges still work, but no lights. My driving lights work also. Also, I checked the fuse box and everything is good, so what could it be?

Why would there be sparks? Didn't you just wire up the harness adapter inside your house or whatever, and then just go out to the car and plug it in?

 

How did you check the fuse's did you pull them out or check with a meter. If you have a meter did you check continuity or just voltage? A blown fuse doesnt always turn black and have a visible break. Does your dome light still work? Replace the radio and illumination fuses even if they look dont look blown. Jered
