Brake light switch wire and others

I can't find the brake light switch wire. There is a gizmo that has 3 connectors on it. 2 of the 3 have no effect on the brake lights. Who knows the wire that activates the light?

I also can't find the neutral safety switch wire. I have read on here that its the yellow one...well, there is no yellow wire in the shifter assy. Which one do i tap into!?

I can't remember the exact color. But go to the switch at the brake pedal assembly under the dash.It is the only wire that will be hot only when the brakes are pressed. And if no one responds before I get back from the shop tomorrow,I will let you know what color the safety switch wire is.

Omega, what year thirdgen is this? The wiring may vary SLIGHTLY from year to year.

For the brake light, you will find a switch above the brake pedal. Orange is hot all the time, blue gets 12V to the rear brake lights when pedal is depressed, and yellow gives 12V to the high mount third center lamp, if so equipped.

For the wires at the Park/Nuetral Safety switch, they are:

Dk Green/White - gets 12V from starter relay

Purple Wire - Gets 12V from Dk Green/White ONLY when in neutral, going to starter

Orange/Black - neutral input for ECM

Blue - Gets 12V from Turn-B/U fuse (20 amp)

Lt Green - gets 12V from blue wire, goes to backup lights ONLY when shifter in reverse.

Omar, you are a GREAT help, i appreciate it.

I am working with an 89 Formula.

The brain looks for a ground for when the NSS is activated. I don't know if the purple wire will give that and i am not to thrilled about it receiving 12V when the car starts. Would the orange/black wire be the correct one to tap into in order to get the ground when the NSS is activated? I probed around but i couldn't find a suitable wire from that harness. I have it bypassed at the moment, but i was just reading that some guy did $2000 worth of damage because he couldn't be arsed to hook it up right.. i don't want to follow suit.

I think i have the brake light figured out, i will test it once i get the VATS taken care of.. do you know where and what colour wires i am looking for? My manual doesn't have any information on it. The only location info i have found is that it is behind the dash and "hard to get to"
