Heres the deal my taillights do not work when I have my lights on. My brake lights work when I hit the brakes though? My gauge cluster lights also are not working. Any ideas? Derek

 

I'll guess it's a camaro ?

By some freak chance they could both be burnt out at the same time. The bulbs are dual element. If the front marker lights are comming on than the backs should to as they are all tied together from the light switch (in a way). The other chance is the wiring running to the back is broken somewhere. i'd start with bulbs, while you have them out, test the socket for power if you have handy or can get a voltmeter.

Your cluster problem could simply be a popped fuse. Under the dash in the fuse panel there should be a 5A fuse labled INST FUSE yank it & give it a look-see.

Try the fuse first. The same fuse runs the tail lights and dash lights. Brake lights are on a separate circuit.
