there is something wrong with my headlight motor

when i trun on the headlights on my 86 t/a my right side headlight works fine but the left side dont, if i crank the headlight up by hand (lots of cranking) then when i go to shut off the lights it goes down fine, i was told that my motor isn't burned up because it wouldn't go down if that was the case, i already tryed one rely by switching it from side to side and it made no difference. i'm stumped, i thought it was and iteresting fact that the headlight that dont work is lose and moves alot when i wiggle it but the head light that works is tight will that make a difference, please help

Dogg,

There are end-of-travel limit switches in the headlight assemblies. If you diable the headlight motors and push-pull up and down on the hand operating ****, you should be able to hear the switches clicking. Chances are, the switch for the upper limit on your left side motor is not closing after the headlight is lowered.
