stereo problems

I have a problem with my stereo and heater blower. They dont work. my stereo gets power and says its playing, but no music. its hard to believe that 4 speakers all went out at the same time. Also, when the car is running and the stereo is playing, there is a buzzing sound coming off of the front left speakers. but when the car is off, nothing. when it first happened, i turned off my car and back on a half hour later and it didnt work. sometimes, just driving along it will work. now, for the heater, i got my 383 installed and then the heater wouldnt work. i checked the fuse and it was blown so i replaced it and it worked for a little while. after it quit, i checked the fuse it was and still is good. It is a stock heater and the stereo is a kenwood. Thanks, Travis

I can't say much about the heater (I'm new at AC/heat/cooling), but as far as the Kenwood goes, it sounds like something is grounded to the speaker wires. If the unit turns on fine and all the buttons work the way they should, you're going to have to check your speaker wires. Do you run the speakers off of the headunit or off of an amp? If you can't get to the speaker wires (trust me it's a pain getting to the stock wiring), you can try hooking up some of your own wires to a speaker you may have lying around. Or take out one of your 6x9s. Hook up your speaker wire to one of the speaker outs in the back of your headunit, and into your spare speaker, just to see if it works. If it doesn't, something's wrong with the headunit, and it'll have to be fixed. If it does, you have grounded stock wiring. Running new wire is a fix for the stereo, but it could be causing problems for other components (the heater blower wiring, for example).

Your blower motor not working could be the blower motor relay that is located under the hood on the pass side near the blower motor, or it could be the blower motor has gone bad.
One way to check the blower motor is to run a wire from the + post on the battery to the plug on the blower motor, if the motor runs then the problem is elsewhere. Also check to make sure that the blower motor is properly grounded.
Good Luck
