i posted this already in the general forum, but just in case...

.....ok, help me!

I have a 400 ci sbc, Mallory HyFire ign box, MSD Blaster 2 coil, carter 600 carb, etc. The car drove fine for the first few weeks I owned it, but then it started randomly missing. It would run fine, then all of a sudden start missing bad for a few minutes, and then be fine again.

I drove my car down the street to meet some buddies, and it was randomly missing every once in a while on the way up. When I left, I pulled out and it died. Started it up, babied it home, parked it. The next day it wouldn't start at all. The wires were pretty old and crappy, so I got new ones, and changed the fuel filter. I changed 2 wires (#1 and #2) and tested it. It fired right up. Got happy and changed all the wires, and the trash came, threw the old ones out. Then I tried to start it. Nope. I said screw it, and went inside. Next day, I tried to start, no luck. Pulled the #2 plug to see if I was getting spark. Nope. Connected the plug to the coil wire. No spark. Tried an old coil wire with the plug. No spark. I got fuel, for sure. Spark is hiding somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks in advance....
